Dorothy's Life

Dorothy was the second child of George and Dorothy, she was born August 28 1928 in their home in Rock Island Illinois.

She married Lyle Karenke November 8 1947, in Eagle River Wisconsin. They had five children Linda, Lyle, Gary, Gloria, and Gregory.

She worked in Housekeeping at Holiday Inn.

In Her Spare Time she ejoyed crocheting.

she made little stocking caps & donated them to Illini hospital for babies

She also enjoyed going to yard sales. Silvis country Music festival, being outdoors, spending time with family, and playing Bingo.

Dorothy was a wonderful wife, mother,sister, grandma, aunt and friend. She loved to spend time with her family, and attended all of her childrens sporting events. We could always count on her to be at all the special events, like weddings, and showers. I remember how she would always let me paint her finger nails and toe nails.

Dorothy passed away in her home after a battle with cancer, may 20, 1991. She was layed to rest at Greenview memorial gardens in East Moline, Il. 

Her family planted a tree in her and her huband Lyle's memory at Empire park in East Moline,Il.
